JZON’s BDAY
by ODie on Apr.30, 2009, under Dance, Events, General
| May 1, 2009 10:00 pm | to | May 2, 2009 4:00 am |
Hey party people this friday May 1st Marquess Wyatt will be spinning at Temple in SF. Come through get down with the FLO-ology. Its also going to be Jzon’s bday, OG FLO-ology member. We consider Jzon our Yoda, peep him in a cypher and watch him destroy floors and smash the beat and you will know why.
He was one of the founding members of a group called Jedi clan from san jose back in the early 90’s. Jedi clan eventually got so big they had to change their name to Mindtricks because George Lucas sent them a letter that they were about to release episode one and didn’t want any confusion. Mindtricks inspired many of the hiphop dance groups in the west coast today after they started getting marreid having kids they retired. Remaining members Gary Kendell, Randy, Kevin, Joe, and a few others wanted to continue dancing, went on and started Jabbawockees.
This is when Jzon made the decision to dedicate his energy to the house scene and help build FLO-ology. For those of you new to the scene Jzon was the first and main chreographer for FLO back in when we first started doing shows in 2002 and a played the main role in getting us freestyle dancers on the stage. Personally he taught me how to count and many of his movements I still use today.
After years of paying dues in the dance scene and being invovled with great hiphop and house crews of the west coast Jzon is going to celerbate his Thirty some odd bday( its a question cause every year he lies more and more and now no one can actually remember how old Jzon is)
So sign up to the link below with Eric of Rocketscience on facebook his list is free b4 12. Dress to dance but don’t look like a thug with base ball cap and jerzee cause most likeley you won’t get in.
Unless your special like Paulie Boy haha
peace

Co Flo’s Track of the Week: Dema – Jay Tripwire feat. Boddhi Satva
When I found this track I was really feelin the deep vibe it was giving off. Once I heard that first brake, damn….all of a sudden the percussion hits – super dope! Damn nothing makes you move your feet like a an ill pattern of congas. Most def one of those tracks that will flip a cypher from smooth and lofty to quick fancy footwork. You’ll hear me play this a lot over the next few months im sure of it – I can only hope that the local DJs here in the Bay are up on this track as I need to hear it in the cypher.

Co Flo’s Track of the Week:
Vem Quente Que Eu Estou Fervendo by Mustafa Feat. Elisangelina (One51 (Richard Earnshaw & Danny Jones) Remix)
I am really feeling this track, super hot vocals mixed with just enough of a eletronic sound = time to hit the floor. When I first came across this track I had heard it in a podcast and couldn’t put my finger on it. It was one of those days where Im mashing away at work and got called into a meeting before I could get in my right mind to write down the name or sound of the track to look up later on. A week or so later I was cruising traxsource (the lounge/chill genre) and I came across the original mix of this song. Needless to say the original is fuckin’ ill! Damn, Mustafa did an awesome job in creating such a live sound, and Elisangelina vocals are super sexay – todo beng. I immediatley knew this was the original sound to that hot remix I had heard the week prior. With that being said the remix I was after turned out to be the One51 remix (Richard EarnShaw & Danny Jones).
Here is the traxsource link for you to listen and check it out, make sure if your feelin’ it you buy it and support the beautiful music that these artist and putting out for us: http://www.traxsource.com/index.php?act=show&fc=tpage&cr=titles&cv=18035
Also, leave me a comment let me know your thoughts on this dopeness….peace!
Producer: Mustafa
Vocals: Elisangenlia
Remix: One51 (Richard Earnshaw & Danny Jones)
Label: Stalwart France
Traxsource: “Mustafa is back with this cover of a very popular brasilian song from the 60s, with a great choice of remixes including Richard Earnshaw & Danny Jones.
“Vem Quente Que Eu Estou Fervendo” features brasilian singer Elisangela and has a great package of remixes ! No other than Richard Earnshaw & Danny Jones under the One51 disguise, but also swiss producers Mankz and Steven Stone deliver their own vision of the tune. Check out this great package…”
