Was talking to a homie Alvyn, wanted to show the rest of you guys some thing in france they call Jazz Rock in japan and england they call it bebop. Alot of the same influences in foot work to house dance but there are differences of course. There might be difference between jazz rock and bebop but I dont fully understand if there is. I believe its all Jazz influenced and they may just call it these other names in these countries =).
Enjoy the clip though! Love the footwork!!

UK Jazz Dancer, Thank you so much for sharing these clips – it helps to guide me through channels and names of people I should be looking into for more of the UK Jazz Fusion style.
I think you read my comment with the wrong message (maybe I wrote it with the wrong message) – I should probably apologize and say that the “lacking of musicality” was not the best choice of words. I meant to say something along the lines of – I do not see the musicality within these selected clips beyond the dancers dancing ON THE BEAT or THROUGH THE BEAT. Perhaps I need to research more, it seems that this style (from the clips you have shared) fits into those two types of musicality expression. This dance style is ridiculously dope – i really like it, very inspirational, especially in the hand and arm movements/gestures. Something that my bread style of House Dance seems to lack greatly. So its really awesome to see a fast complex footworking style of dance with great upper body expression! Another thing I think was interpreted wrong was that – I did indeed see the original videos “Odie” Posted as being performances which, correct me if I’m wrong, seems like this style of UK Jazz fusion is heavy freestyle based dance (similar to House). When House routines become “routines” often the beauty of the dance gets lost.
I would love to chat more with you about this – hopefully you can educate me on some history and some good names I should be looking up. I will email you later today.
peace and dope beats!
Co Flo
I find it hard to see that you do not find any musicality in either the French or British dancers.
OK check out IDJ jazz dancers or The Floor Technicians on youtube bothe of whom are British. You may change your mind
100% PURE STYLE’

100% PURE STYLE’ 1000 MILES PER HOUR UK JAZZ DANCE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N-68p4uwYY&feature=player_embedded#
There’s ONE big difference the France are dancing to funk music where
you can take your time and dance’ It’s not 100 mile per hour jazz music where your
on the tip of the beat’ where your fighting not to fall. We dancing 10 time’s faster
them jazzrock dancer’ if we was to dance to funk music we would look the same
it’s a bit like voguing.
I don’t know why it’s call jazzrock when they are dancing to funk. That what your not seeing or understanding.
And how can you say we are lacking musicality’ dancing to the music is what it’s all about. Do you mean you don’t like how we move to the music’ i think so. look again and listen please. You have 3 clip up there and there dancing ALL ON THE BEAT
All the best

good style dance super.thanx.
Ive seen this one, ya this is France – super dope, thx for sharing Leslie!
here’s a freestyle clip of some jazz rocking in paris (i believe)…the guy in the vest is pretty amazing!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3MBV_BjDx0M
Its actually pretty cool to see the contrast in style just by region. With obvious key elements coming from where these dancers are being influenced and by whom. The UK clip has Nicholas Brothers written all over it. Japan’s looks like a mixture of soft shoe and locking groove. Paris is more of a tap / house fast footwork style. Overall I think all of them are lacking musicality, while they are dancing on or in beat I see little of the instrument accents. Given that these are all performances and not “freestyle”, I assume it is choreographed to a degree – so with that being said its still dope
