On September 23rd, twenty of San Francisco’s select bar establishments will put forth their best in Fernet-Branca’s Second Annual BARBACK OLYMPICS – an event conceived by local nightlife hero Micah Byrnes. Barback Gladiators will compete for prizes through a series of rigorous bar related activities that promise to delight the crowd of cheering bartenders, owners, and industry enthusiasts. This year the event is stepping up to a bigger arena at Ruby Skye which will accommodate the estimated crowd of over 1,000. For this special event there will be amazing prizes, libations, gourmet appetizers, a custom Fernet T-shirt creation station, tattoos, and much more. Top notch DJs combined with cutting edge performances will be sure to keep the energy high all night long as spectators enjoy the competition and cheer for their favorite “bar-athletes.”

Contests:
Beer Restocking
* Gladiators race to determine who can best bring beer bottles to bare.

Keg Changing
* Combatants carry kegs across a course, followed by a whirlwind switcheroo. This will get messy…

Bottle Relay
* Which contender can fill our models’ drink orders the quickest?

Ice Bucket Relay
* Opponents are pitted in a dash against the clock in a glacial relay.
